Case Studies
Case Study #1

The Problem:
"I keep getting pulled into crisis after crisis at the division level and this is my most profitable group of all. These are highly educated, key leaders but their behavior is really dysfunctional. How can this be happening to us? I think we need to sign up for a leadership development program."
- Oil & Gas/CEO

The Solution:
While the client believed Leadership Development would solve the problem, we were able to diagnose the real issues in our one-on-one coaching sessions. Conflict avoidance, internal sabotage, and other destructive behaviors were at the root of the problem.

We quickly shifted to Team Development and were able to get these group leaders on the same page as a team. Targeting trust and loyalty issues, we facilitated the hard conversations and worked out the strategy to move this successful division forward, while keeping their dignity in tact.

The Client's Conclusion:
"Things are clicking along so well, I'm ready for EXCELERANT to help my other divisions."

Case Study #2

The Problem:
"I have an extremely talented person in a critical position of my company. He has tremendous potential but his people skills leave something to be desired and are creating a breakdown in the way we function. (Some are infractions that have sent him into the ethics department.) What can you do for an individual who is both irreplaceable and irritating?"
- Banking/CEO

The Solution:
As certified executive coaches we are trained to listen for certain issues and pose questions to challenge or test people in leadership positions. After just such an interview, we discovered this manager was open to changing his behavior and took responsibility for it. We facilitated assessments with his boss and continued the conversation throughout a year-long process as we helped him learn to deal more appropriately and effectively in specific scenarios.

The Client's Conclusion:
"I thought he was unsalvageable, but he's now my shining star example and the whole process was pretty painless."

Case Study #3

The Problem:
"Our business has matured but we're stuck and can't seem to move forward. My partners and I are often doubling each others efforts, stepping on each others toes. How do we make the rules and find a more fair way of working together so we can grow?"
- Healthcare/Partner

The Solution:
To first identify the strengths and the interests of each partner, we facilitated a conversation with the partners-- a scenario that often requires the kind of third party help EXCELERANT provides. We essentially identified "the business of the business," documented the roles, established policies and procedures and successfully divided the operations among them. In doing this, we helped deepen their levels of trust which required some difficult and critical conversations. Bottom line, we helped them standardize their operations so no one person ever feels like they have to shoulder it alone.

The Client's Conclusion:
"EXCELERANT was able to accomplish something we had tried for years to do, and couldn't. They helped us work through healthy conflict and learn how to reach true agreement, not just for the sake of agreeing. Plus, they helped us create a blueprint for our organization so that someone else can step in until the main player comes back to resume the role. We've been able to widen the leadership circle so we can grow and the entire Leadership Team is doing that in lock-step."
